What you need to take into consideration with residual moisture in the flooring

Wet screeds must dry out before installing laminate, wood flooring, tiles or other coverings, otherwise consequential damage is inevitable. The residual moisture content of the screed is the basis for assessing the level of preparation for installing a floor covering.

The relevant maximum moisture contents for cement and calcium sulphate screeds without underfloor heating are:

• 2.0% (0.5 %) for wood flooring
• 2.0% (0.5 %) for laminate

For heated screeds these values are even lower. You can speed up the drying process by carrying out the preparatory heating phase using the underfloor heating system.

ATTENTION: Damp-proofing is also mandatory for screeds that are ready for covering to prevent residual moisture damage to laminate and wood flooring floors!
