SELIT supports aid projects

SELIT Dämmtechnik GmbH will once again not be sending Christmas gifts to customers and business partners in 2021. For many years, it has been a matter close to the heart of the leading manufacturer of underlays to support both regional and international aid projects.
After another year full of challenges, SELIT decided to do without Christmas presents again this year. Instead, customers and business partners were able to decide which of three selected aid projects should be supported with their vote and the associated donation.
The most votes and thus a sum of 11,250 EUR goes to the children’s cancer charity Kinderkrebshilfe Mainz e.V. Unfortunately, early childhood movement was often neglected in the past in everyday hospital life. The donation will be used to support targeted measures and projects to promote the motor development of young children.
A donation of €3,600 will go to the German aid organisation Welthungerhilfe, which is supporting Madagascar and Haiti, two countries affected by natural disasters. Haiti has still not recovered from the severe earthquake that hit the country 11 years ago, and the renewed quake in 2021. Food will be donated and information provided about COVID-19. In Madagascar, large parts of the harvest have been lost for the third year in a row due to persistent droughts. Here, water points are being created and reliable access to clean drinking water is being provided.
The non-profit organisation ARCHEMED – Doctors for Children in Need is pleased to receive a donation of €3,150. In Afghanistan, there is a dramatic shortage of medication and consumables. The donation will be used to put together an aid package containing antibiotics, painkillers and oxygen, among other things, to support those affected locally.
SELIT is delighted with the great response to the fundraising campaign and would like to thank all those who voted.
