SELITeco – the sustainable underlay

Sustainably produced and packaged and 100% recyclable. The new SELITeco® 5 mm underlay for laminate and wood flooring from SELIT.

The demand for sustainably produced and resource-saving building products is increasing. Retailers have been expanding their range in this area for years. An important focus here is on the reusability and recycling of products and packaging.

With SELITeco® 5 mm, SELIT is now launching the first product on the market that consistently focuses on recyclability and specifically uses materials that contain recyclates.

100% recyclable

Thanks to the careful selection of the materials used, SELITeco® is 100% recyclable. In addition to the product itself, the product insert and the packaging film are also fully recyclable. When added to the right disposal system, they can be processed into new products.

Sustainably produced and packaged

SELIT underlays are produced using state-of-the-art extrusion technology. Thanks to an extensive recycling system, all foam waste produced during manufacturing is automatically shredded, melted and returned to the production process as regranulate. The recyclate content in SELITeco is at least 30 per cent.

A certified energy management system that is actively implemented ensures that resources are used sparingly. SELIT produces ‘Made in Germany’ with partially renewable energies. This saves CO₂ and protects our climate and our environment.

Sustainable materials were also the focus when it came to packaging. The product insert, for example, is printed in a climate-neutral way and is made from 100% recycled paper. It has also been awarded the Blue Angel certification.

The packaging film used is particularly thin but still durable, and made from 30% recycled material. This film has made it possible to reduce the amount of packaging film by 70% compared to conventional wood fibreboard.

A box made of 100% recycled material was chosen for the packaging unit and for an appealing presentation in Retail. The use of waste paper conserves resources.

Harmless to health and high-performance

Like all SELIT products, SELITeco is free of plasticisers, formaldehyde and other harmful substances. It has been awarded the Blue Angel environmental label as a particularly low-emission and environmentally friendly flooring.

Even in daily use, SELITeco® makes a valuable contribution to protecting our climate. Thanks to its material thickness of 5 mm, it offers impressive thermal insulation, which contributes to a warmer floor and saves up to 15% energy.

SELITeco® is offered as a sustainable product in the SELIT underlay range. The new product is particularly convincing as an alternative to conventional wood fibre boards. The significantly higher value of 20 dB in impact sound reduction ensures pleasant room acoustics. SELITeco® is insensitive to moisture and therefore ideally suited for use in damp rooms. It ensures hygienic rooms without moisture and mould. The high load capacity – especially with dynamic loads and falling objects – guarantees consistently high performance over the entire life cycle.
