New XPO document with top marks for walking noise

Always one innovation ahead – that is the promise of SELIT® Dämmtechnik GmbH. At the beginning of 2019 and just in time for DOMOTEX, the company is once again keeping its promise and is adding the new XPO underlays of the SELITPRO® series to its product range. For the first time in the company’s history, non-cross-linked closed-cell polyolefin foam is being used to create a high-performance underlay for wood flooring and laminate flooring.

SELIT® has been working with the flooring industry to supply the first polyolefin foams for the vinyl flooring sector since 2018. XPO foams have become particularly established in this market segment. The advantage lies in the high compressive strength combined with the excellent impact sound insulation and the very good ability to compensate for unevenness in the substrate. Due to these impressive performance parameters in acoustics and load capacity, SELIT® is now logically adding the new XPO foams to its range of wood flooring and laminate underlays.

The product is part of the SELITPRO® series of professional underlays. An optimal combination of density and thickness achieves a high pressure stability in the 2 mm thick underlays, which withstand the daily stresses on a floor and effectively prevent damage. In addition, the flexible material provides maximum walking sound insulation. The fine, even foam structure also allows punctual conformability and comfortable installation. SELITPRO® XPO lies flat, unlike conventional rolled goods, and is wonderfully easy to cut with a cutter. Like all products in the SELIT® range, XPO also has the easy cut® grid print, which ensures precise cutting and thus professional processing.

The new polyolefin foams are available as SELITPRO® 2 mm and SELITPRO® 2 mm AquaStop.
